Barbara Scully – Older, Bolder, Wiser

Friday May 9 @ 7:00 PM 10:00 PM

The Richmond Revival is delighted to announce Barbara Scully this May, with her one woman show Older, Bolder, Wiser.

The show Older, Bolder, Wiser is a follow up from Barbara’s first book Wise Up, which was published in 2022. Possibly one that will appeal more to our female audience, expect a lively, roller coaster journey of storytelling and stand-up comedy as Barbara muses on some of the absurdities of being a woman along with the joys of getting older.

Barbara’s attitude about getting to a certain point in life is that “once you are through the menopause, you arrive at a wonderful time, full of freedoms and the opportunity to do things that you have not been able to in earlier decades. The problem is that no one tells you about it. I was highly surprised to find myself loving my late fifties and sixties”.

About Barbara

Barbara is a well known writer, author and broadcaster. A familiar voice on radio she is one half of the ‘So You Think You Are An Adult’ slot (with Declan Buckley) every week on the Moncrieff Show on Newstalk.

Although a Dun Laoghaire Dubliner, Barbara’s maternal grandparents George Power and Kathleen Fitzgerald both came from Fermoy town. “George was very involved with the old IRA during the War of Independence and was one of those involved in the infamous kidnap of a British General in 1920”.
