A MID-WEEK SESSIONS SERIES CONCERT

Introducing our new MID-WEEK SESSIONS SERIES CONCERTS.

We’re delighted to announce, Claude Bourbon is helping us launch the first concert of our new series THE MID-WEEK SESSIONS.

The Mid-Week Sessions is a small, select series of concerts that will be donation based rather than having a ticket cover charged. And as the name implies, they’ll be mid-week evening events.

How it works

On the night, we will be ‘passing a hat’ and you can contribute what you think is fair and can afford. This is something we’re trying out and we will need to see if it is viable. If it proves that it works, then we aim to hold a limited number of concerts throughout the year for this series to start with, and hopefully it’s something we can develop thereafter.

Please bear in mind, the artists who will be participating in this series are established niche audience people and we hope that donations will at the very least cover their costs for coming to The Richmond Revival, and at best, that there’ll be enough good will from the audience such that their time and effort will be reflected through the donations also.

The only other thing we request/ recommend from you guys is that you pre-book your ticket online (which carries a €1 booking fee). This is because, we’re a small venue with capacity for only a certain number of people. It makes everything a lot more straight forward if we know how many people to expect in advance and means we can manage people turning up on the night without creating hassle for anyone in the event we end up having more people than we can accommodate. If that happens, the people who have committed to pre-booking will be given priority. So if you don’t mind, we’d appreciate it if you could pre-book.

Claude Bourbon

As part of his European tour, another guitar virtuoso of a different kind enters the building! Claude’s style is summed up as progressive blues, but the reality is, you’ll hear a stunning acoustic fusion of blues, jazz, folk, classical and Spanish guitar.

He moves from a classical opening with almost courteous music across the continent to the blues of the Mississippi Delta, from the Balearic Islands to the Balkans, and then back to the United States. Spanish blues evolve into Gypsy music, which travels to Eastern Europe, with a splash of Paco de Lucia, then a touch of Delta tunes and more. Influences from Richie Blackmore, Joaquin Rodrigo, JJ Cale and even J. S. Bach speaks for themselves. Claude has impeccable timing and does things on six strings that will blow your mind.

Mr. Bourbon’s guitar fingering and arrangements are varied and eloquent.  He has the gift of brilliant sequencing and the result is a hypnotic voyage along a river of songs and instrumentals. He seamlessly flows between English and French lyrics, taking you on a journey to other dimensions.

“ Claude Bourbon aptly describes himself as a musical artist.  He uses a vast array of music tools to paint a landscape we have all visited either in person or in our dreams.”
