Ger Wolfe
Friday April 17 @ 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The Richmond Revival is very excited about the return of Ger Wolfe following the amazing performance we were privileged to witness last year of a selection of original music from his 10 albums.
Songs from Freeman’s Ballyvourney Collection is a selection of songs from one of our richest veins of Irish music gathered over 100 years — Ger’s tenth full album since the debut ‘Word and Rhyme‘ recorded on reel-to-reel by Ray Barron way back in 1995.
Complete with guitar, fiddle, banjo, shruti-box and a bag of other surprises, be prepared to go on a musical journey remembering the old — including traditional songs of the Gaeltacht Múscraí, brought to light in our times by the late Seán Ó Riada, his son Peadar and many singers steeped in the music of Múscraí where Ger has lived and worked for over 25 years — exploring the new, and led by one of our most mellifluous larks.
Songs from the Gaeltacht of Múscraí
Ger will play a selection of songs from all his previous albums including ‘The Curra Road’ ‘The Lark of Mayfield’ ‘She scattered Crumbs’ , ‘Hello Gorgeous’, ‘Aislinn Geal’ — a different take on ‘Fáinne geal an lae’ and other gems Ger has worked on over the last seven years from this store of traditional songs of Gaeltacht Múscraí. You can check out Ger’s music here
Always a gifted songwriter, with an unmistakable voice and intricate guitar picking, Ger weaves strands of traditional and contemporary folk music harmoniously together. He continues to be a gentle and consistent voice on the Irish folk-roots scene; his singing is a pure joy.
Tickets €19.80 (inclusive of booking fee) — Doors open 7pm — Gig starts 8pm

‘an utterly original approach to his craft…his songs have a lyrical, timeless quality, pandering to neither fad nor fashion…a rare and unique creative talent’
