SUMMARY:North Cork Art Music Festival - Eve Clague
DESCRIPTION:Scroll down for tickets \n  \nFinishing off our series of concerts is the unbelievably talented Eve Clague. This is a gig you do not want to miss! \nEve Clague is a singer-songwriter who draws on the rich variety of music she grew up with in her home and community to create a highly personal and direct style of songwriting. Eve has toured nationally with a number of bands as a vocalist and sax player\, and has clocked up more hours as a working musician than most artists in their mid twenties. However\, it was her enrolment in Cork School of Music (MTU) in 2014 which really gave Eve the time and space to develop her songwriting and collaborate with a huge range of like-minded musicians. \nSince then\, Eve released her debut EP in 2019\, a single in 2020 and she is currently working on a new album.\nHer EP ‘Young Naive Me’ received many plays on national radio stations and abroad as did the single titled ‘Down Down Down’. \nEve has developed a self taught fingerpicking style of guitar with folk/jazz elements and hints of Joni Mitchell\, Nick Cave vibes. \nWith a band made up of well known players from Cork’s jazz/neo soul scene and featuring some of her own string arrangements\, Eve’s music crosses genres very naturally in songs which centre around her acoustic guitar and deeply honest vocal style. \nEve has performed at events including Cork’s Quarter Block Party; Body & Soul; All Together Now; Cork Jazz Festival; International Guitar Festival; Quiet lights festival. \nEve has plans to release her debut album later in the year followed by a full Irish tour. \nFor this performance Eve will be joined by double bassist Niall McGuinness. \n \n \nProceeds from this event go to a local charity. \nThere may be some tickets available at the door but we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.

Excelling in different roles such as musical direction\, performing\, arranging\, producing and editing\, Karl has accumulated an impressive professional discography of some seventeen commercial albums to date and has had the role of Producer/Director on eight commercial albums so far. \nIrish Traditional to Folk\, Indie Rock to Ambient music. Since 2012 Karl works as a Community Education Tutor for Cork ETB and Music Generation\, as well as a Traditional Music Examiner for the Cork ETB County School of Music. \nIn 2016 Karl graduated with First Class Honours from CIT Cork School of Music with a Masters in Music. Karl has performed at numerous festivals throughout the UK\, Europe\, Scandinavia and China\, and has shared the stage with some of the most acclaimed traditional musicians. He has performed as guest instrumentalist with the Berne Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra\, and has played support to artists such as Mairéad Nesbitt\, Sharon Shannon\, Seán Ó’Shea\, Frankie Gavin\, Bob Geldof\, Iarla O’Lionaird\, Steve Cooney\, The Hot House Flowers\, Lúnasa\, John Spillane\, Eddie Reader\, Brian Finnegan (Flook) and Juliet Turner. \nKarl has also hosted composer and flute player concerts at The Beamish Cork Folk Festival\, and has been a valued contributor to musical education programs on behalf of The ETB\, The National Concert Hall\, UCC Music Department\, The Arts Council\, CIT Cork School of Music\, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann\, Music Generation\, and Cork City Council. \nhttps://karlnesbitt.bandcamp.com/album/one \nConor O’Sullivan’s musical journey started as a teenager with an unlikely interest in the tenor banjo. Just 3 years later Conor was a regular performer in The Corner House\, playing in weekly sessions and soaking up as much as possible from players like Mick Daly\, Christy Leahy\, Aidan Coffey\, Matt Cranitch to name a few. Soon after Conor started performing for a stint with the energetic Cork outfit North Cregg\, in place of resident banjo player Paul Meehan. \nAfter performing in the U.K.\, Germany\, Belgium and the U.S. by age 21\, Conor decided to focus more on acoustic guitar and through regular collaborations with Mick Daly\, gathered a wealth of knowledge regarding accompaniment in both traditional tunes and song. This broader interest in acoustic music eventually led to the formation of folk band “Deluce’s Patent”\, a 4-piece ensemble.  Conors career has continued to include performances in many parts of the world including collaboration with Scandanavian and US musicians of high acclaim. \nhttp://www.conorosullivanmusic.com \nJason Turk \nJason is a full time professional musician\, composer and music teacher from the Blackwater Valley in West Waterford. He has toured extensively around the world particularly the US and Germany with his own groups and with established touring bands such as “The Young Irelanders!”. \nThanks to the mentorship of Bobby Gardiner Jason has had a deep love and respect for Irish traditional music from a young age. All his compositions imbue nuances of the Irish tradition. While his work often experiments with fusion & crossover styles as well as modern innovations he has a firm belief that it is important to nurture the elemental nature of the tradition.  Now based in Cork\, he has played a big part in the diversity of the music scene in the city. \nhttp://www.jasonturk.ie/music/ \n  \n \nProceeds from this event go to a local charity. \nThere may be some tickets available at the door but we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.

SUMMARY:North Cork Art Music Festival - Marja Gaynor and David Power
DESCRIPTION:  \nScroll Down for Tickets \nTo kick off our series of performances here at Richmond we have the dynamic duo of Marja Gaynor (violin and viola) and David Power (uilleann pipes). \nMaster uilleann piper David Power and Baroque violinist Marja Gaynor explore the edges and affinities of baroque\, traditional Irish music and improvisation\, in a high octane programme ranging from the 17th century to the present day. \nFinnish Baroque violinist Marja Gaynor and uilleann pipe master David Power met during Camerata Kilkenny’s “Piper and the Fairy Queen” project – a celebration of the meeting of traditional and baroque music. Inspired by the tensions and affinities between those different genres they developed a duo set for the Kaleidoscope Night concert series in March 2020\, and were delighted by the audience’s response to their high octane intersplicing of different styles and backgrounds. Since then\, they have performed at the Hugh Lane Gallery concert series\,  Masters of Tradition festival\, Baltimore Fiddle Fair\, Farmleigh House and FUAIM. Together with flamenco guitarist John Walsh they were awarded Music Network’s RESONATE residency to develop new material for Triskel Arts Centre. Future engagements include a return to Masters of Tradition in Bantry and Sligo Baroque Festival. \nMarja Gaynor\nis a Cork-based violinist and viola player. She specialises in Baroque music and plays with various Irish and European ensembles\, including the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Camerata Kilkenny. She is also well respected as a versatile musician at home in many different styles\, a fluent improviser\, as well as arranger and curator. Upcoming projects include chamber music tours with the Vanbrugh and Solas Quartet and performing and arranging as a trio with uilleann piper David Power and flamenco guitarist John Walsh. Gaynor was Artistic Director of East Cork Early Music Festival 2013-2015 and has also programmed for the Kaleidoscope Night concert series. She teaches violin and chamber music in MTU Cork School of Music. \nDavid Power\nneeds little introduction as he is a highly accomplished\, world renowned master musician.  David has collaborated with many of the biggest names in traditional music in particular\, such as Mairtín O’Connor\, Seamie O’Dowd\, Cathal Hayden\, Iarla Ó’Lionard\, Steve Cooney\, Denis Cahill and Martin Hayes. \n \n \nProceeds from this event  go to local charity. \nThere may be some tickets available at the door but we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.

SUMMARY:Outdoor Cinema - Bohemian Rhapsody
DESCRIPTION:Introducing The Richmond Cinema Club – We are very excited to announce that our cinema club will begin with an outdoor show on Friday the 5th of August at 9:30pm. The Film will begin at 10pm. \nWe hope to have one showing a month (indoors) where club members can come and enjoy mostly fringe/art house movies and documentaries in a unique atmospheric setting.  To become a member of the club\, simply come along to any of our showings and we will sign you up. \nThis event is an outdoor event so dress appropriately for the Irish weather and bring a blanket to sit on (or lie under!) and preferably a deck chair.  For those familiar with Richmond\, the cinema screen will be at the front of the building. As a result of a test run it would seem that the sloped lawn will be too far away from the screen\, hence the need for seating in the car parking space in front of the house.  We have some limited seating available but we advise that you bring your own to be safe. \nAlso following the test run\, it became apparent that the originally proposed 8:30pm start is too early as it is too bright at this time. Truly\, it is not dark enough until 10pm. Hence the later start time. \nBring your own snacks and/or liquid refreshments and please bring home your rubbish:) \nAdmission is €5  per adult upon entry.  Children are free and welcome but are admitted by parental discretion. We advise that parents research the suitability of this film themselves. Also\, children must be supervised and of an age to sit quietly and not disturb or distract other viewers. \nFinally\, this is an amateur event in a fantastic setting. The impetus for this event  is not a commercial one but simply aims to enhance the cultural life of Fermoy where people can share a positive alternative experience in an intimate setting. I reiterate that by participating in this event\, you are subscribing to a monthly cinema club and will be updated to future private screenings. \nProceeds for this event will be reinvested into the Richmond Cinema Club\, the Richmond Revival Project and a local charity. \n
