Indoor & Outdoor Spaces
In the absence of a hotel in Fermoy, The Richmond Revival provides a flexible venue space to suit a range of needs for small parties and private functions, as well for more educational or corporate type events such as presentations or book launches (to give but a couple of examples).
You have the option to self cater or we can organise catering for you should you desire. The options are many and the price is negotiable depending on the level of service required.
You can choose from three of our large ground floor rooms to use for classes, workshops, events, parties and gatherings.
- The Walker Suite
- The Drawing Room
- The Ball Room (Craft/Fairs/Workshop Room)
All rooms are flexible spaces that can accommodate a variety of requirements, as well as being situated in an exquisite setting.
In addition to the indoor spaces, you also have the choice of using the outdoor grounds & garden spaces should you choose to host a marquee or outdoor event or intimate gathering. To date, we’ve catered for workplace summer parties, family gatherings, children’s birthday and communion celebrations, and small festival type events.
We can provide pretty much anything you might need within reason. Just make sure to talk through what you need when making a booking inquiry or when you come to view the property before making your final decisions about booking the venue, and we can confirm and/or provide alternative suggestions from there.

The Walker Suite
As a venue for cultural events, The Walker Suite is where we host all our gigs and performances. It’s got a staging area at the top of the room (on the ground, not a raised platform), has tall ceiling height as you’d expect in a period property with original cornice detail, and has a seating capacity for up to approx. 60 audience members.
This room provides a blank canvas that can be dressed for multiple types of private hire functions and events. To date this room has hosted presentations, visual art exhibitions, auctions, yoga, pilates, dance classes and movie evenings (the curtains that act as the backdrop to the staging area can be removed to create a clean wall space for projector images/presentations/movies) as well as small performances. We have in-house PA system and microphone facilities and the acoustics in this room are excellent.
It can also be transformed into a dining area that can accommodate long tables or multiple small tables should you need.
The Drawing Room
The Drawing Room (or as we like to call it, The Father Ted Room), has a naturally relaxed, comfortable and informal vibe to it. It can facilitate up to around 15 people seated with plenty of room to spare.
Again, this space can be configured to suit whatever you need. Currently, as part of our cultural events offering, we use it as the chill out area where audiences relax with their drinks and have a chat during performance intervals. During the summer time when there are private garden tours, it becomes a pop-up Tea Room.
It can be flexed to accommodate (for example) couches, comfortable seating, and coffee tables, or a more hard working space with multiple small tables and seating.
The Ball Room (Craft/Fairs/Workshop Room)
In its former life, this room was originally The Ballroom of the estate. However, in the hands of the Presentation Sisters, it was transformed into a room for much more practical purposes.
We hope to restore this room in time but at present, it provides a hardworking space with its own sink facilities, as a craft room and has so far been used for art classes, upholstery, sewing, picture framing and a plethora of other practical workshops and activities including the making of lanterns for the festival of light (winter solstice) and the making of puppets for the 2020 Fermoy Street art.
It’s a room you don’t have to be afraid of making a mess in, although we would appreciate that you tidy up after yourself if you do!
The Outdoor Grounds
Secluded, private, and hidden away. You’d never know you were in the centre of Fermoy town!
As you can see from the aerial shot, The Richmond Revival has ample outdoor green spaces, mature gardens and grounds including a large pond and orchard.
To date, birthday parties, BBQ’s, family gatherings, and small festivals have been held here. We provide an industrial sized BBQ grill, a marquee or two if needed, seating and all other equipment that might be needed, depending on what your requirements are. Just ask and we’ll let you know what we can provide.
We also provide camping grounds with their own bathroom facilities.
