Duke Special — SOLD OUT
Saturday September 7 @ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Duke Special brings his Adventures in Ireland tour and his inimitable musical sensibilities this September to The Richmond Revival.
By nature, Duke Special (aka Belfast’s Peter Wilson) is a curious person. He is curious about music, theatre, books, poetry, art, love, life, redemption, death and 78RPM records. The variety of musical adventures in his career give plenty of evidence for this.
He has released seventeen albums and EPs and toured all over the world. He has contributed to a diverse array of other projects, including writing the music for Deborah Warner’s critically acclaimed 2009 production of Mother Courage and Her Children at London’s National Theatre.
In New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art commissioned him to write a series of original songs based on the photographic work of Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen and Paul Strand.
Currently
Duke is currently working on what will be his seventh theatre piece, a musical adaptation of The Velveteen Rabbit for Replay Theatre Company, Belfast (2025).
Performing live is still one of Duke Special’s main passions, and over the years he has played to captive audiences across the world. He might performs solo, as a duo with his long-time friend and percussionist Chip Bailey. You might see him with a full band, a string quartet or a complete orchestra. Whatever the style, a Duke Special show is always a unique experience.
Latest work
His latest album, Blood for Ghosts launched as vinyl and a book in November 2023, and you can check it out here.
