Hank Wedel
Friday September 13 @ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The Richmond Revival is privileged to be one of the first to bring you music from Hank Wedel’s new album What Happens In Cork, launched in August of this year.
Born in Ohio to an Irish mother and an American father, Hank Wedel moved to Mallow when he was eleven and has maintained Co. Cork as his home base ever since.
The Legend that is Hank Wedel is a well known face on the live music scene in Cork city and honed a much loved sound through his past collaborations with bands such as “Princes Street” and “Open Kitchen” as well as a long-standing Monday night residency at Charlie’s Bar, Union Quay with mandolin maestro Ray Barron.
Hank has also performed with Irish music legends Kíla, Declan Sinnott, Shane McGowan, Philomena Begley and Bono. Christy Moore recorded Hank’s song “Listen” which he subsequently made it the title track to his best-selling 2009 album with Sony records.
